Associate Professor Markus Hofer has more than 20 years of experience as a clinical neuropathologist and researcher.

He is the consultant neuropathologist for the New South Wales Tissue Resource Centre and deputy chair of the brain and body node at the Charles Perkins Centre.

He obtained his medical doctorate at the Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany and was a senior consultant and the deputy head for the Department of Neuropathology at the University Hospital Marburg, Germany.
